    • 0.25 tsp Hing
    • 10 Cashews

    • 1 Onion (chopped)
    • 3g Ginger (peeled)
    • 90g Tomato (cut into two)
    • 0.75 tsp Garam Masala
    • 0.5 tsp Salt
    • 0.5 tsp Sugar
    • 350ml Water
    • 40g Frozen Peas (washed)
    • 4 stems Coriander Leaves (minced)

    Instructions

Upma, uppumavu or uppittu is a dish originating from the Indian subcontinent, most common in the southern states as breakfast, cooked as a thick porridge from dry-roasted semolina or coarse rice flour

    1. 1

Add initial spices and aromatics to jar

First, roast 100g Suji in a microwave for 3 minutes (1:30 minutes, twice) until golden brown, mixing in between. Then, add 1.5 tbsp Ghee, 0.5 tsp Mustard Seeds, 10 washed Curry Leaves, 0.25 tsp Hing, and 10 Cashews to The Upliance jar. Also add 1 Green Chilli (cut into two), 1 Onion (chopped), 3g Ginger (peeled), and 90g Tomato (cut into two).

    2. 2

The device will now cut and cook the base

The Upliance will first cut the aromatics at room temperature for 10 seconds. Then, it will sauté the spices at medium heat for 30 seconds. Followed by sautéing the aromatics at low heat for 5 minutes with automatic stirring. After this, add 0.75 tsp Garam Masala, 0.5 tsp Salt, 0.5 tsp Sugar, 350ml Water, and 40g washed Frozen Peas to The Upliance jar. The device will then boil the contents at low heat for 5 minutes with automatic stirring.

    3. 3

Repeat the cooking with main ingredient

Add the 100g Roasted Suji to The Upliance jar. The device will mix for 10 seconds, then cook the Upma at low heat for 7 minutes, and finally simmer at low heat for 3 minutes with continuous automatic stirring until the Upma is perfectly cooked.

    4. 4

      The dish is ready

Your Tomato Upma is ready! Garnish with 4 minced Coriander Leaves and serve hot from The Upliance jar.
