Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Refined Oil
  • 0.5 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 0.25 tsp Hing
  • 10 leaves Curry Leaves (washed)
  • 2 pieces Dried Red Chilli (stems removed)
  • 4 g Split Urad Dal (washed)
  • 1 piece Onion (cut into quarters)
  • 0.5 tsp Kashmiri Mirch
  • 0.25 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tbsp Sambar Powder
  • 0.5 tsp Sugar
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 6 pieces Tomato (halved)

Temper the spices

Add Refined Oil, Mustard Seeds, Hing, Curry Leaves, Dried Red Chillies, and Split Urad Dal to The Upliance jar. The device will temper the spices on low heat for 1 minute with automatic stirring.

Process the onions

Add the quartered onions to The Upliance jar. The device will automatically chop them and then sauté the aromatics on low heat for 3 minutes until translucent.

Cook the chutney

Add halved tomatoes, Kashmiri Mirch, Turmeric, Sambar Powder, Sugar, and Salt. The device will cook the mixture on low heat for 15 minutes and blend it to the perfect consistency.

Serve

The Thakkali Thokku is ready. Remove the tangy chutney from The Upliance jar and serve with savoury breakfast items or rice.
