What is it?

Peel garlic, halve tomatoes
How rough?
Peel 15 garlic cloves (the slow bit). Pull the stem off a green chilli. Cut 4 tomatoes in half. Wash 15 basil leaves and pick off the stalks. That's all the knife work: the chopping and puréeing are the jar's job.

What goes in
4 tomatoes, cut in half, and 15 fresh basil leaves. No fresh basil? Use 2 tsp dried basil instead, or leave it out. Don't swap in tulsi: it is a different, bitter leaf. Then pop the crown back on.

Then?
upliance cooks the tomatoes and basil down for about 10 minutes, turning them every so often, then blitzes it all into a smooth sauce in the same jar. Scrape the sides down when it stops.

Cooks the pasta in it
21MIN FREEleave the kitchenWhat's the jar doing?
With the crown off, upliance cooks the pasta right in the sauce for about 18 minutes, stirring slowly the whole time so nothing sticks, then lets it sit in the heat for the last 3 minutes to soak the sauce up. No pot to watch, no pasta water to drain.
You, 1 minTip out. Rest 5 min.
Looks watery?
Scrape the pasta out into a serving bowl and leave it for 5 minutes. If it looks a little watery at first, don't worry: the pasta drinks up the sauce as it sits and turns thick and saucy.
