    Ingredients

    • 40 g Sona Masoori Rice (washed)
    • 30 g Masoor Dal- Split (washed and soaked)
    • 30 g Toor Dal (washed and soaked)
    • 500 g Water (for soaking)
    • 3 tbsp Ghee
    • 0.5 tsp Jeera
    • 0.25 tsp Hing
    • 1 piece Onion (quartered)
    • 1 piece Green Chilli (stem removed, slit)
    • 5 cloves Garlic (peeled)
    • 1 piece Tomato (halved)
    • 14 stem Coriander Leaves (chopped)
    • 50 g Frozen Peas (washed)
    • 100 g Potato (peeled)
    • 1 tsp Kashmiri Mirch
    • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
    • 0.25 tsp Turmeric
    • 1.75 tsp Salt
    • 430 g Water (for cooking)

    Instructions

    Bihari Khichdi is a comforting Indian dish made with rice, lentils, and potatoes, cooked together to a soft and mushy texture. It is a one-pot meal that is both nourishing and delicious. Pair with Pickle and Curd

      Add initial ingredients to jar

      Add 2 tbsp Ghee, 0.5 tsp Jeera, and 0.25 tsp Hing to The Upliance jar. The device will begin tempering these spices on medium heat for 30 seconds with automatic stirring.

      The device will now cook aromatics

      Next, add 1 quartered Onion, 1 Green Chilli (stem removed, slit), 5 peeled Garlic cloves, 1 halved Tomato, and 10 stem Coriander Leaves (root removed, chopped) to The Upliance jar. Select sauté mode. The Upliance will sauté these aromatics on low heat for 5 minutes with automatic stirring, followed by a quick stir at high speed.

      Repeat the above for main cooking

      Now, add 1 tsp Kashmiri Mirch, 1 tsp Coriander Powder, 0.25 tsp Turmeric, 1.75 tsp Salt, 50 g washed Frozen Peas, 100 g peeled Potato, 40 g washed Sona Masoori Rice, 30 g washed and soaked Masoor Dal- Split, 30 g washed and soaked Toor Dal, and 430 g Water (for cooking) to The Upliance jar. The device will cook the khichdi on low heat for approximately 30 minutes with continuous automatic stirring until it reaches a soft, mushy texture.

      Your Bihari Khichdi is ready! Garnish with 1 tbsp Ghee and 4 stem minced Coriander Leaves. Serve hot with pickle and curd.
