    • 10 leaves Curry Leaves (washed)
    • 5 cloves Garlic (peeled)
    • 3 g Ginger (peeled)
    • 1 piece Onion (cut in two)
    • 1 piece Green Chilli
    • 3 pieces Tomato (cut in two)
    • 1.5 tsp Salt
    • 0.5 tsp Turmeric
    • 0.5 tsp Kashmiri Mirch
    • 0.5 tbsp Tamarind Paste
    • 4 stems Coriander Leaves (minced)

    Instructions

    Tomato pappu is a classic South Indian lentil dish known for its simplicity and rich tomato flavor. This recipe involves cooking red lentils to a creamy consistency and blending them with tangy tomatoes, creating a comforting and aromatic dal. It's a staple comfort food in South Indian households.       Prepare dal and tempering

      Pressure cook the dal separately for 3 whistles. Add ghee, mustard seeds, dried red chilli, hing, and curry leaves to The Upliance jar. The device will temper the spices on medium heat for 1 minute.

      Add garlic, ginger, onion, and green chilli to the jar. The device will chop and sauté on medium heat for 3 minutes. Add tomatoes, salt, turmeric, kashmiri mirch, and tamarind. The Upliance will cook the mixture on medium heat for 7 minutes and blend automatically.

      Simmer with dal

      Add the boiled dal and its water to the jar. The Upliance will mix and simmer the Tomato Dal on medium heat for 8 minutes with automatic stirring to achieve a creamy consistency.
