Sabudana Khichdi is a popular Indian dish made from tapioca pearls. This gluten-free and often fasting-friendly dish is known for its fluffy, pearl-like texture. It's seasoned with various spices and herbs, creating a delicious and satisfying meal or snack
First, ensure your tapioca pearls are washed and soaked for 4 hours (240 minutes) as instructed. Then, add 60g raw peanuts to The Upliance jar. The Upliance will roast them on high heat for 10 minutes with automatic stirring. Once roasted, the device will then grind them briefly on high speed for 5 seconds. Set aside the crushed peanuts. Now, in a separate bowl, add the soaked tapioca pearls, 0.5 tsp jeera powder, 1 tsp salt, and 1 tsp sugar. Mix well and set aside.
Add 2 tbsp ghee, 0.5 tsp jeera, and 0.25 tsp hing to The Upliance jar. Select sauté mode on high heat for 30 seconds with automatic stirring. Next, add 1 green chilli (chopped) and 3g ginger (peeled and minced) to the jar. The Upliance will sauté these aromatics on high heat for 10 minutes with automatic stirring. Then, add 70g diced potato and 20g water. The Upliance will sauté the potatoes on high heat for 10-15 minutes, ensuring they are cooked through and slightly browned with automatic stirring.
Add the seasoned tapioca pearls and the previously crushed peanuts to The Upliance jar with the sautéed potatoes. The Upliance will cook the mixture on medium heat for 10-15 minutes with automatic stirring, ensuring the pearls become translucent and fluffy. Be aware that charring may occur due to the starch content, so the Upliance will manage stirring to minimize this.
Once cooked, transfer the Sabudana Khichdi to a serving bowl. Garnish with 7 stems chopped coriander leaves. Your delicious Sabudana Khichdi is ready to be served hot.
