    Instructions

Jeera aloo is a simple and flavorful Indian side dish featuring boiled potatoes tempered with cumin seeds (jeera). The dish boasts a perfect balance of earthy cumin and tender potatoes, making it a popular accompaniment to main meals. Pair with Chapati

    1. 1

      Boil Potatoes & Prepare Aromatics

Add 350g diced potato and 700ml water to The Upliance jar. The device will boil the potatoes on medium heat (105°C) for 20 minutes with the lid on. While the potatoes cook, wash and soak 10g chana dal in a separate bowl for 15 minutes. Once the potatoes are boiled, strain them into a separate bowl and set aside, ensuring The Upliance jar is empty and ready for the next step.

    2. 2

      Sauté Aromatics and Spices

Add 1 piece onion (skin removed), 0.5 piece green chilli, and 6g peeled ginger to The Upliance jar. The device will automatically chop these aromatics in 10 seconds. Then, add 2 tbsp refined oil, 0.5 tsp mustard seeds, 6 washed curry leaves, 1 tsp salt, and the soaked chana dal to The Upliance jar. The Upliance will sauté these ingredients on medium heat (105°C) for 2 minutes with automatic stirring until fragrant.

    3. 3

      Combine and Cook Filling

Add the boiled and diced potatoes along with 0.5 tsp turmeric to The Upliance jar. The device will sauté the mixture on medium heat (105°C) for 1 minute 30 seconds with automatic stirring, ensuring all ingredients are well combined. Mix once with a spatula in the jar before plating.

    4. 4

      Garnish and Serve
