Upma, uppumavu or uppittu is a dish originating from the Indian subcontinent, most common in the southern states as breakfast, cooked as a thick porridge from dry-roasted semolina or coarse rice flour
Add 2 tbsp Ghee, 0.5 tsp Mustard Seeds, 10 Curry Leaves, 0.25 tsp Hing, and 1 piece Green Chilli (remove stem) to The Upliance jar. The Upliance will sauté these at medium heat for 30 seconds with automatic stirring. Then add 130 g Onion (cut in two), 3 g Ginger (peel), 1 piece Green Chilli (remove stem), and 15 Cashews. The Upliance will automatically chop these at low heat for 10 seconds, then sauté them at medium heat for 7 minutes (420 seconds) with automatic stirring until they are golden.
Add 1 tsp Salt, 1 tsp Sugar, 350 ml Water, and 40 g Frozen Peas (wash) to The Upliance jar. Select cook mode at medium heat for 5 minutes (300 seconds) with automatic stirring to bring the mixture to a boil.
Now add the 100 g Suji (already roasted in a microwave) to The Upliance jar. The device will cook at medium heat for 4 minutes (240 seconds) with automatic stirring, followed by a brief 10-second stir at low heat, and then simmer for 10 minutes (600 seconds), ensuring a perfectly cooked Upma consistency.
Once cooked, transfer the Upma from The Upliance jar to a serving bowl. Garnish with 4 stems Coriander Leaves. Your delicious Upma is ready to serve!
