    Ingredients

    • 50 g Toor Dal (washed)
    • 2 tbsp Refined Oil
    • 0.5 tsp Mustard Seeds
    • 2 Dried Red Chilli (stems removed)
    • 0.25 tsp Hing
    • 10 leaves Curry Leaves (washed)
    • 6 g Split Urad Dal (washed)
    • 5 cloves Garlic (peeled)
    • 3 g Ginger (peeled)
    • 1 piece Onion (cut into two)
    • 1 piece Tomato (cut into two)
    • 80 g Red Pumpkin (cubed)
    • 10 g Jaggery (shaved)
    • 0.5 tsp Turmeric
    • 1.5 tsp Salt
    • 0.5 tbsp Sambar Powder
    • 600 g Water
    • 50 g Cooked Toor Dal
    • 1 tbsp Tamarind Paste
    • 4 stem Coriander Leaves (minced)

    Instructions

    Pumpkin Sambar

      Add initial tempering ingredients to The Upliance jar

      Add 2 tbsp refined oil, 0.5 tsp mustard seeds, 2 dried red chillies (stems removed), 0.25 tsp hing, 10 washed curry leaves, and 6 g washed split urad dal to The Upliance jar. The device will now temper these spices at medium heat for 30 seconds with automatic stirring. Simultaneously, wash 50 g Toor Dal and pressure cook it with 600 g water.

      Chop aromatics and sauté

      Add 5 peeled garlic cloves, 3 g peeled ginger, and 1 piece onion (cut into two) to The Upliance jar. The device will now chop these aromatics for a total of 7 minutes. Next, add 1 piece tomato (cut into two) and 80 g cubed red pumpkin to the jar, and The Upliance will cut these vegetables for 8 minutes. Following this, The Upliance will sauté the aromatics at low heat for 3 minutes with automatic stirring.

      Combine vegetables, spices, and dal

      Add 10 g shaved jaggery, 0.5 tsp turmeric, 1.5 tsp salt, 0.5 tbsp sambar powder, and 1 tbsp tamarind paste to The Upliance jar. The device will then combine the ingredients for 5 minutes with automatic stirring. Now, add the 50 g cooked Toor Dal to the jar. The Upliance will continue to cook the sambar at low heat for 32 minutes with automatic stirring, ensuring all flavors meld perfectly.

      The Sambar is ready
