Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Poppy Seeds
  • 3 g Ghee (plus extra for greasing)
  • 150 g Jaggery Powder
  • 100 g Grated Coconut
  • 1.5 tsp Green Cardamom Powder
  • 10 tbsp Rice Flour
  • 236 ml Water (for dough)
  • 500 ml Water (for steaming)

Prepare the Filling Ingredients

Add ghee and poppy seeds to The Upliance jar. Select sauté mode on medium heat for 30 seconds. Then add jaggery powder, grated coconut, and cardamom powder.

Cook the Filling

The device will now cook the mixture on low heat for 10 minutes with automatic stirring ensuring the jaggery melts evenly without burning. Remove filling and let cool.

Prepare Dough and Assemble

Clean jar, boil water, and mix with rice flour to form a dough. Grease palms, shape dough into dumplings, stuff with the cooled filling, and seal.

Steam and Serve

Add 500ml water to The Upliance jar. Place modaks on the steamer tray. The device will steam on low heat for 10 minutes. The dish is ready.
