    Ingredients

    • 3 tbsp Ghee
    • 1 g Cinnamon Stick
    • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
    • 0.25 tsp Hing
    • 20 leaves Curry Leaves (washed)
    • 2 pieces Dried Red Chilli (stem removed)
    • 1 piece Onion (cut into four)
    • 100 g Potato (peeled and cut)
    • 50 g Carrot (washed)
    • 50 g Frozen Peas (peeled)
    • 10 g Cashews
    • 5 g Roasted Salted Peanuts
    • 30 g Toor Dal (washed and soaked for 5 hours)
    • 750 ml Water
    • 40 g Sona Masoori Rice (washed)
    • 2.5 tbsp Bisi Bele Bhath Powder
    • 0.5 tbsp Tamarind Paste
    • 0.25 tsp Turmeric
    • 0.5 tsp Kashmiri Mirch
    • 1.75 tsp Salt

    Also known as Bisi Bele Huliyanna, Bisi Bele Bath is essentially a spicy dish made with rice, lentils and vegetables that is tempered with typical South Indian spices and nuts. A special spice blend called the Bisi Bele Bath powder is also added to it, which gives it the authentic taste. Pair with Curd/Raita

      Prepare Initial Tempering and Vegetables

      Add ghee, cinnamon stick, mustard seeds, hing, dried red chilli, and curry leaves to The Upliance jar. Select sauté mode at medium heat for 30 seconds with automatic stirring. Then, add chopped onion (cut into four) and peeled & cut potato to the jar. The Upliance will sauté these vegetables at high heat for 5 minutes with automatic stirring.

      Add Remaining Ingredients

      Add washed carrot, frozen peas, cashews, washed and soaked toor dal, washed sona masoori rice, Bisi Bele Bhath powder, tamarind paste, turmeric, Kashmiri mirch, salt, and water to The Upliance jar. The Upliance will now combine these ingredients automatically.

      Cook the Bisi Bele Bhath

      The Upliance will cook the mixture, starting with a 6-minute phase at high heat, followed by a 40-minute simmer at low heat, ensuring constant automatic stirring for a consistent texture. A final 5-minute stir will complete the cooking process.

      Garnish and Serve

      The Bisi Bele Bhath is ready. Garnish with sautéed cashews, curry leaves, ghee, and roasted salted peanuts. Serve hot with curd or raita.
