Ingredients

  • 50 g Black Chickpeas (washed and soaked)
  • 300 ml Water
  • 2 tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 0.5 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 0.5 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 10 Curry Leaves (washed)
  • 50 g Red Onion (chopped)
  • 1 Dried Red Chili (stem removed)
  • 200 g Red Pumpkin (chopped)
  • 200 ml Water
  • 4 stems Coriander Leaves (minced)

Instructions

Add initial ingredients to jar

Add coconut oil, mustard seeds, turmeric powder, curry leaves, and red onion to The Upliance 2.0 jar. Select sauté mode at 95°C for 5 minutes with automatic stirring.

The device will now cook the spices and chickpeas

Add the drained black chickpeas, red chili, and 200 ml of water to The Upliance 2.0 jar. The device will now pressure cook at 95°C for 30 minutes with automatic stirring.

Add pumpkin and continue cooking

Add the chopped pumpkin and remaining 200 ml of water to The Upliance 2.0 jar. The device will continue cooking at 95°C for 30 minutes with automatic stirring.

Once cooking is complete, garnish with minced coriander leaves. The Mathanga Erissery is ready to serve.
