    Ingredients

    • 250 g Rohu Steak (cleaned)
    • 1 tbsp Refined Oil (for marination)
    • 4 tbsp Refined Oil (for pan frying)
    • 2.5 tbsp Refined Oil (for Upliance cooking)
    • 2 pieces Onion (quartered)
    • 1 piece Green Chilli (stem removed)
    • 2 pieces Dried Red Chilli (stem removed)
    • 5 cloves Garlic (peeled)
    • 10 leaves Curry Leaves (washed)
    • 2 pieces Tomato (halved)
    • 2.5 tsp Kashmiri Mirch
    • 0.75 tsp Turmeric
    • 1.25 tsp Salt
    • 0.25 tsp Coriander Powder
    • 120 ml Water
    • 200 g Coconut Milk
    • 1 tbsp Tamarind Paste
    • 4 stems Coriander Leaves (minced)

    Instructions

    An aromatic fish curry from coastal Karnataka. This is a recipe where you make the sauce in DelishUp and fry the fish on stove and then cook all the goodness together in DelishUp. Pair with fluffy appams, dosa or rice

      Prepare the aromatic base

      Add quartered onions, green and dried red chilies, peeled garlic, 2.5 tbsp refined oil, and washed curry leaves to The Upliance jar.

      Automated cooking of the base sauce

      The Upliance will chop the aromatics, then sauté them on medium heat for 6 minutes with automatic stirring. Next, add halved tomatoes, 2 tsp Kashmiri mirch, 0.5 tsp turmeric, and 0.75 tsp salt. The Upliance will then cook this mixture on medium heat for 7 minutes, followed by a quick blend for a smooth base.

      Cook the curry and integrate fish

      Add water, coconut milk, and tamarind paste to The Upliance jar. The Upliance will cook the curry on medium heat for 10 minutes with automatic stirring. While the curry cooks, marinate the cleaned Rohu steak with 1 tbsp refined oil, 0.5 tsp Kashmiri mirch, 0.25 tsp turmeric, 0.5 tsp salt, and 0.25 tsp coriander powder, then pan-fry it on a stove with 4 tbsp refined oil until golden. Once the curry is ready, add the fried fish to The Upliance jar and let it simmer on low heat for 5 minutes.

      The Coastal Fish Curry is ready. Garnish with minced coriander leaves and serve hot with appams, dosa, or rice.
