Jain Chole Masala, also known as chana masala or channay, is a popular Indian dish made with chickpeas, tomatoes, and a blend of spices. Pair with Poori/Rice/Roti/Paratha
First, wash and soak 100g Chickpea overnight. The next day, pressure cook them separately with 0.5 tsp Salt and approx. 250ml Water until soft. In The Upliance jar, add 2 tbsp Refined Oil, 1 tsp Jeera, 0.25 tsp Hing, 1 piece Green Chilli (stem removed), and 10 stems Coriander Leaves (root removed). The Upliance will now sauté these aromatics on medium heat for 30 seconds, with automatic stirring.
Add 3 pieces of cut Tomatoes to The Upliance jar. The device will now blend these tomatoes for 10 seconds and then cook them with the aromatics on low heat for 5 minutes with automatic stirring. After this, add the remaining 0.625 tsp Salt, 1 tsp Garam Masala, 0.5 tbsp Anardana Powder, and 70ml Water to the jar.
Repeat the above. Add the previously boiled chickpeas along with their cooking water to The Upliance jar. The device will now cook the chole with the gravy on low heat for 30 minutes, ensuring even cooking with automatic stirring.
The dish is ready. Garnish the Jain Chole Masala with 1 tbsp Ghee and 5 stems minced Coriander Leaves directly from The Upliance jar before serving hot.
Skip the knife work. Add the ingredients and let Upliance handle the rest.
