Ingredients

  • 80 g Masoor Dal (Split)
  • 60 g Sona Masoori Rice (washed)
  • 630 g Water (total)
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 tsp Jeera (Cumin Seeds)
  • 0.25 tsp Hing (Asafoetida)
  • 10 cloves Garlic (peeled)
  • 2 g Ginger (peeled)
  • 1 piece Onion (halved)
  • 1 piece Green Chilli (stem removed)
  • 10 stems Coriander Stems (roots removed)
  • 2 pieces Tomato (halved)
  • 0.5 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri Mirch
  • 0.5 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 0.25 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 stems Coriander Leaves (minced)

Instructions

Add aromatics to jar

Add garlic, ginger, onion, green chilli, and coriander stems to The Upliance jar. The device will chop them automatically. Afterwards, add ghee, cumin seeds, and hing.

The device will now cook the masala

The Upliance will sauté the aromatics on medium heat for 3 minutes. Add tomatoes and all powdered spices. The device will cook the masala on low heat for 5 minutes with automatic stirring.

Add grains and cook

Add the soaked dal, washed rice, and water to The Upliance jar. The device will cook the khichdi on low heat for 30 minutes, stirring continuously to ensure a creamy texture.

The dish is ready

The khichdi is now cooked to perfection. Garnish with fresh chopped coriander and a drizzle of ghee before serving.
