Ingredients

  • 100 g Besan Flour
  • 20 g Suji
  • 2 Green Chilli (remove stem)
  • 5 g Ginger (Peel & Grate)
  • 0.75 tsp Salt
  • 50 g Curd
  • 150 ml Water (for batter)
  • 0.75 tsp Eno
  • 500 g Water (for steaming)
  • 2 tbsp Refined Oil
  • 0.25 tsp Hing
  • 2 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 0.5 tsp Jeera
  • 20 leaves Curry Leaves (wash)
  • 300 ml Water (for syrup)
  • 5 tsp Sugar

Instructions

Prepare batter and steamer

Mix besan, suji, chilies, ginger, salt, curd, and 150ml water in a bowl. Whisk out lumps, add Eno, and pour into a greased mould. Add 500g water to The Upliance jar and place the steamer basket on top.

The device will now steam the dhokla

The Upliance will steam the batter on low heat for 30 minutes. Once done, remove the steamer basket and set the dhokla aside to cool slightly.

Prepare the tempering syrup

Empty and clean The Upliance jar. Add oil, mustard seeds, jeera, hing, curry leaves, sugar, and 300ml water. The device will cook the syrup on low heat for 10 minutes with automatic stirring.

The dish is ready

Cut the steamed dhokla into cubes. Pour the hot tempering syrup over the dhokla, allowing it to soak in. The dish is ready to serve.
